Washington DC

First time: Summer, 1985
Last time: Summer, 2016

In the Summer of 1985 between 7th and 8th grade, I got to go on a field trip to Washington DC. That was my first time there. During that trip my camera got stolen, so I have no pictures from that week.

My first time to go to DC for work was in the Spring of 1999, helping offices finalize preparations for Y2K. That was a really big deal in 1999. Not so much in 2000. That was before cell phones had cameras, so I don't have any pictures of that trip either.

I've been back a dozen times since then.

Everyone who drives through St. Louis has a picture of the Arch. Everyone who drives into DC has a picture like this:



I've also been to the Smithsonian a few times. Everybody who goes there has this picture too.



In the Fall of 2012 I spent as week in a building that sits next door to Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals. This was right before they went into the playoffs, so a lot of people were excited about them playing right next door. I was not.

In the Spring of 2013 I spent another week in the same building. During that trip I blogged about some of the food trucks I visited.

In the Summer of 2016 I spent another week in D.C. for work.
