California
First time: Summer, 2007Last time: December, 2015
The first time I visited California was in the summer of 2007, for about 10 minutes. While visiting Las Vegas in 2007 with my Dad, the two of us realized that neither of us had ever stepped foot in California. We rectified that by driving west until we hit California, literally "stepping foot" in the state. We got off at Exit 1, took a few pictures, and then drove back to Las Vegas.
In the summer of 2014, we finally made it to California on a family vacation. We flew into LAX on Memorial Day weekend and spent a week working our way up to San Francisco. During our trip we visited Hollywood, the Warner Bros. Studio, the Jelly Belly Museum, Sequoia National Park, the Computer History Museum, Alcatraz, Rancho Obi-Wan, and Disneyland.
You can read more about our vacation by searching my blog for entries that contain the phrase California Vacation.
In December of 2015, my family and I flew to LAX and spent a day in and around Hollywood. We watched the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at El Capitan Theater on December 17th, 2015, and visited the Paramount Movie Studio tour the following day before boarding a cruise ship and heading to Hawaii for 14 days.
