The one and only time I've been in South Dakota was on our drive back home from Seattle to Oklahoma City during the summer of 2012. I specifically planned a northern route home so that I could add South Dakota on my list of states I've visited.
The first stop on my list was Devil's Tower. If you don't know what Devil's Tower is, you've not seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
After driving through Sturgess, our next stop was Mount Rushmore.
