(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home4/robohara/public_html/www.robohara.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114Have you ever heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is?” That’s bull. Home is where your bed is. When my bed was at the other house, that was my home. When the bed got moved to this (the new) house, this became my home.

The old home (the place where my bed used to be) is now officially on the market. Pat Deckard is selling it. Pat Deckard is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the best Realtor of all time. (Not really, but she should be — Pat’s the best!) The listing shows the house at 2,200+ square feet because for some reason they don’t list the 400 square foot bonus room. Regardless, we have ultimate faith in Pat and we know she will find the perfect family for our old home!

Last night I spent an hour looking for the remote. I knew I had packed it in a box “where I couldn’t possibly miss it,” I just couldn’t remember which one. After searching boxes for about an hour, Susan found it sitting upstairs. I guess I had already unpacked it a few days ago. The TV that used to be in our living room at the old house is in the upstairs den at our new house. The TV that used to be upstairs (in my “Man Cave”) at the old house is now in the small, back living area of the new house. The TV that used to be in our master bedroom at the old house is now in the formal living room at the new house. Basically every single television, DVD player, cable box and game system has changed rooms; as a result, I can’t find at least half of the cables I need to hook things up. I’m missing at least 2 HDMI cables and a couple of power cords. They’ll turn up … eventually.

My office at the new house has a large area (about 10×10) attached to it that used to be attic space but has been converted to … let’s call it a “bonus closet”. I was hoping to put my computer in the office and put my servers in the bonus closet, but the cable outlet is in the room, which means I had to swap my plans around and now my main computer is in the bonus closet and my servers are in what was going to be my office. It really doesn’t matter all that much because for the most part I’ve been accessing the Internet from my laptop downstairs so … eh. Nothing really has a permanent place yet; things just keep getting shuffled around, and I suppose that’ll continue until things feel right and I stop moving them.

And speaking of moving … everything is out of the old house except for the garage and the arcade. The games are going over to my friend Dean’s place, once I find time to make that happen. And the garage stuff is, for the time being, probably going to simply migrate from that garage to this one. Jeff and I worked on the house until 2am Sunday night. We painted, we replaced smoke detectors, we laid down wood in the attic storage area … we did a lot. It seems like there is always something else you could do, and I suppose if the new house doesn’t sell soon, I’ll start doing those things too. It’s all about the law of diminishing returns, and we’re 99% there.

Mason still doesn’t have a bed at the new house. He grew to dislike his old metal loft bed (if anyone wants it, hit me up) and wants a trundle bed. Mommy and Morgan are going Girl Scout Camping this weekend, so Mason and I will probably (among other things) go bed shopping.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is?” That’s bull.
