Last year, the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago held a contest and let one lucky winner live inside the museum for 30 days. Contest winner Kate McGroarty (Youtube<\/a> | Twitter<\/a> | Blog<\/a>) spent 30 straight days eating, sleeping, and living inside the MSI, from the middle of October through the middle of November. <\/p>\n

“MSI Kate” spent her time both exploring the nooks and crannies of the museum as well as publicly sharing her experience through Youtube videos, blog entries, and digital pictures. You know, the stuff I do every day. The experiment went over so well that the MSI has decided they will be repeating the contest again for 2011.<\/p>\n

I have decided that I will be both entering, and winning, this year’s contest. Oh yes, I will.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

There is nothing I enjoy more than experiencing new things and sharing those experiences with others. What can I say … it’s the journalist in me. For ten years now I’ve been blogging and documenting every one of life’s adventures. I can’t imagine a better fit for this than me. I’ve probably been to the MSI half a dozen times in my life, maybe more. The last time was in 2007, when I got to share the experience with both my dad and my son. The thought of being able to explore every last inch of the museum and share that experience online is making me want to grab a pillow and a sleeping bag, drive 800 miles north, and camp out on the museum’s steps until they pick me.<\/p>\n

To enter the contest, applicants must submit a 60-second video, a 500-word essay, some pictures, and complete an application. My wheels are already turning. My camera is ready, my words are ready. I am ready!<\/p>\n
