Our mutiny was a success. Susan cancelled our California hotels, and through Priceline.com got us two nights in a $300\/night suite at the MGM Grand for $100\/night. Go, William Shatner!<\/p>\n

After checking out of the Fairfield Inn, we hit a series of cool places. The first was Bonanza (“the world’s largest souvenir shop”) right off the strip. Then we grabbed lunch at Johnny Rocket’s, one of our favorite Vegas burger joints. After eating, we stopped off at the Pinball Hall of Fame. I hadn’t been to their new location, and the kids had a blast playing all the different machines. <\/p>\n

We left the Pinball Hall of Fame to visit the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, aka the home of the hit TV show “Pawn Stars.” Chumlee and the gang were all MIA, but we had a good time in the small-and-packed place nonetheless.<\/p>\n

After getting back to the hotel and resting a bit, we hit up the MGM’s pool area. There are at least four swimming pools here and a lazy river. The kids had a blast swimming. I had a blast drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n

After some dinner from the food court, Mason and I took a taxi to Freemont Street to catch the tribute to Queen. Freemont Street is having a summer of 80s music, so Mason and I had a good time watching the bands. And the street performers. And the strippers. And then it was time to go.<\/p>\n
