Susan wanted to go camping over Memorial Day weekend, but I didn’t want to spend the evening around a million other people, so a compromise was made; we’d go camping down on Susan’s mom’s property, down in Alex, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

Being around other people turned out not to be a problem.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Well, that’s not exactly true. There were<\/i> a few locals hanging around …<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Our camping adventure was pretty laid back. In fact, the only real stress was our race to get the camper set up before the sun went down.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We made it, with just a few minutes to spare.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Once we had our camper set up and Susan’s sister had her tent set up, Susan’s mom brought down her portable fire pit, which we used to start a fire and cook hot dogs on. Ah, there’s nothing like roughing it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And, this is nothing like roughing it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The night was calm and quiet, except for the occasional “moo” from a nearby cow. The next morning, after having some scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and Honey Buns, we packed the camper back down and hauled it back home. <\/p>\n
