Three weeks ago, I spent the week in New York City. When I got home I spent six hours with Susan (10pm-4am) before she left for the airport, bound for Florida. The week before last, both of us were home. This week, Susan jetted off to D.C. for another quick meeting. Flew out on Monday, came home Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Sunday, I leave for Durham, North Carolina, to perform more security scanning. I’m driving, because that’s what I do. The instructions look pretty simple (get on I-40, go east 1,200 miles, exit at Durham). A quick glance shows me passing through Fort Smith, Little Rock, Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, Knoxville, Asheville, Hickery, Greensboro, and Durham. If you live in or near one of those areas, let me know. I was considering returning via the southern route, but it really doesn’t add to my list of states I’ve visited<\/a> and I’ll be pressed for time on returning to get back home without taking any leave, so I think the most direct route is probably my best bet.<\/p>\n

The most interesting thing about this trip so far is “the rock slide”. Apparently in October, 2009, a rock slide dumped a bunch of rocks on I-40, which have yet to be cleaned up. The rock slide has its own web page<\/a>. The detour looks to add about an hour on to the trip. So be it.<\/p>\n
