Over the three-day weekend (happy belated Presidents Day!) Susan and I decided to try our luck by playing some blackjack at one of the local Indian casinos.<\/p>\n

“I feel pretty lucky today!” I said to Susan as she pulled into the parking lot.<\/p>\n

“Me too!” she said.<\/p>\n

Then she hit, killed, and ran over a bird.<\/p>\n

I figured this was a sign of bad luck. (And it was, for the bird.) Of course, pretty much all I know about Indian burial grounds comes from Pet Cemetery and Poltergeist, so what do I know?<\/p>\n

We ended up doing okay (Susan won more than I lost). In fact, she won enough to cover our dinner at the Cheesecake Factory later that night, during which I got to mess with the people sitting next to us. But that’s a story for another day.
