Mason got his cast<\/a> off this past Monday. If you’ll recall, he broke it by falling off his Ripstik a day or two after Christmas. Even thought the doctor said it was okay to do so, Mason didn’t ride the Ripstik much when he had is cast on (he said the cast threw off his balance). Over the past few days he’s started riding it again.<\/p>\n

Yesterday Susan and I thought it would be run to take Mason’s Ripstik up to his school and let him ride it across the playground on the way back to the car. Mason was excited when he saw it and immediately hopped on it. He was doing pretty good until we got to the big hill. Down he went, and then, down he went. The Ripstik slipped out from under him and I watched Mason’s head bounce off the pavement. He hit so hard that his shoe flew off. That’s when you know someone’s hurt — when they get hit so hard their shoes fly off.<\/p>\n

So as we’re watching this unfold, Morgan, like one of the Corsecan Brothers<\/a>, falls down too. Keep in mind that she is nowhere near the action. Mason fell, started screaming, and then Morgan fell. Her shoe flew off, too. Unbelievable!<\/p>\n

At this point I’m freaking out because Mason’s freaking out. (No one’s freaking out about Morgan;she’s tougher than Mason.) Mason’s got blood shooting out of his head and a goose egg is already starting to form. We put his hoodie on his head and applied pressure to get the bleeding to stop on the way home. I was opting for the hospital but the cut turned out to be smaller than I originally thought. <\/p>\n

After we got home Mason went into the bathroom to check out the cut in the mirror and OH AWESOME THE FISH IS DEAD TODAY YAY ARGH.<\/p>\n
