Happy Birthday to Me!

We’re back in town after our whirlwind weekend! Here’s a general recap.

If you’ll recall, I spent the majority of Friday running around, getting things ready for Friday night. Susan and I had dinner at Musashi’s Japanese Steakhouse, and it was yummy.

Saturday morning we loaded up the van and headed out to “America’s VideoGame Expo”, aka vgXpo in Dallas, Texas. We left Saturday morning around 10am and due to construction and a GPS-led wild goose chase, we didn’t get to the hotel until around 2pm, and the convention around 3:30pm. I had made loose plans to spend eight hours or so at the convention, but we were so bored after a couple of hours we ended up leaving. Low turnout, bad promotion, not very exciting.

Saturday evening we headed over to Crystal’s Pizza. Mason had a good time watching cartoons in their large theater room and I had a good time destroying my diet, ho ho! Justin and Les met us there and we all had a good time.

Sunday morning, Susan dropped me off at the Dealey Plaza 6th Floor Museum for a bit while she ran to get breakfast. After checking out the grassy knoll for a few minutes, we went over to Justin’s, where Mason and Morgan got to meet his pet ferret, Tsunami. After our morning break, we all had lunch at Chipotle’s, a great burrito restaurant (I wish we had these in OKC!) followed by ice cream at some place who’s name I always forget. By 1pm or so we were back on the road, arriving home around 5:30pm.

I wasn’t kidding when I said I wanted to rest for my birthday!
