This is officially my first website update from my new computer. Dell is running a sale on their Dimension 3000 computers. 3ghz machine with 512 meg of RAM and an 80 gig HD for $349, after rebates (free shipping, too). You really can’t build one for that price. My main machine has been dead for over three months, so it’ll be nice to actually have a decent machine up and running again upstairs. I just tossed my PVR card in for watching/recording cable tv programs and my old 128 meg NVidia card back in, and so far everything’s running well. I also tossed my old 120 gig HD in as a D: drive, just because I could. Why not?
Work hasn’t been nearly as fun as this computer project has. Thursday ended with our formal letters from Lockheed Martin stating that as of March 1st we will all be unemployed. Apparently Titan (which Lockheed Martin was in the process of buying last year) won our contract and will be our new employer. Contract changes are always a stressful time at work, but I’m trying not to think about it too much and just go with the flow. Rumors are running rampant, everything from we won’t have jobs to we will have jobs but will get paycuts to all other sorts of crazy things. Eh. No sense in getting worked up over it before it happens.
Mason had a great time in the snow and was sad to see it go. In a way, I was too; if it’s going to be cold, I’d just as soon have something to see for it.
11 weeks of school left. Graduation is May 14th, 2005.
My Superbowl plans kind of fizzled this weekend so I’ll either watch the game or not. I really like Superbowl parties … I just don’t care for the actual game a whole lot.
