Unlike many of us who take pride in showing off our shelves, TEEBooks’ approach is to hide the shelves altogether.
The secret is that the shelves are incredibly thin. When combined with a wall similar in color, the shelves do seem to blend in with their background. (I suspect that, in person, the shelves would appear more prominent than they do in these photos.)
TEEBook shelves are available in multiple colors and configurations, allowing owners to assemble them just about any way you can imagine.
They’re far from cheap, and personally I enjoy looking at shelves, but if you want people to focus on your collection and not your shelves, these could be a good (but expensive) solution. Did I stress that they’re expensive? The small (~18″) shelf will run you $50, which means I would need literally thousands of dollars of these to house just my music collection.
