I have one set of shelves left that don’t match any of the others in my Star Wars room. These are those.
Tonight after dinner, Morgan went with me to Lowe’s to pick up parts I needed to finish this area. Everything together was less than $100.
Step one was to remove everything from the old shelves.
With those out of the way, both kids helped me mark the spot on the wall where the new rails would go. Mason helped me with the stud finder. Once the rails were secured, Morgan helped me decide where the shelf supports would go.
With the shelves in place, Morgan went to work populating them.
Here’s where we stopped.
That top shelf is going to have to come down a couple of inches if the AT-AT is going to stay up there. The Fisher Price Adventure People section is a little crowded and I need to fill the shelf that Morgan couldn’t reach, but other than that it’s not bad. Both kids helped me out and I really appreciated their labor this Labor day weekend!
I almost forgot to mention, the best thing about the extra space I gained from these shelves is that I could declutter the shelves out in the hallway a bit. They’re starting to look more how I had originally envisioned.
If only we had enough stormtroopers to fill all these Imperial Troop Transporters/Imperial Cruisers.
Call me crazy, I kinda liked the old shelf – it was kind of live the self-service island of misfit toys.
