Last night Susan threw an early surprise birthday party for me. Susan rented one of the Director Suites at the Warren Theater and a bunch of my friends came out and all of us watched a movie together. After I got home it dawned on me that I didn’t take a single picture the entire evening. My friend Brian (who drove all the way from Arkansas!) did and posted it to Facebook, so I am stealing his picture from before the movie started and posting it here.
Unfortunately almost exactly 12 hours before the movie started, my Uncle Joe passed away. This is the same Uncle that Mason just spent a week with in Chicago two weeks ago. Uncle Joe was a good guy who was always nice to me and Susan and loved our kids so very much. I haven’t had a chance to write about that yet, but I’m sure I will over the next few days. We expect there to be a wake this week and a funeral and I know I will be going up there for that.
Sorry to hear about the loss of Uncle Joe. It sounds like he was a pretty great guy to know, let alone be related to. My condolences.
Sorry I couldn’t make it – you know how the babysitting situation is. (For all I know, I’m taking a five-year-old to a sci-fi-and-steampunk convention next week – hilarity will surely ensue!)
Sorry to hear about your Uncle Joe too. Hope the kids are taking the news okay.
Sorry for your loss Rob.
