Well, we missed it. The kids and I hit the road yesterday, headed to Chicago. I didn’t see or hear about the tornadoes until we got here. This one hit my town, Yukon Lots of family members without power and a few without shingles. Glad that the kids were nowhere near the storms but wish I was there to help out. Heard that it tore up our old neighborhood near Reno and Czech Hall pretty good. Also started to hear about a few fatalities — I selfishly hope it’s no one I knew. Everyone stay safe and save a pile or two for us to clean up when we get back.

We were actually in OKC during the storms…over at OCU for a conference. We were slated to stay at the hotel at the airport last night, but that was definitely a no go with all the flooding, debris, power lines down, and police/emergency vehicles blocking all the roads. Back safe in Enid. Crazy night.
Well, I didn’t save you any shingles to pick up, but I definitely can use another hand with a chain saw when you get home, if that is among your skills. Lost some tops of big trees and had another one split right down the middle. When you crawl out of the shelter and your house is still standing and everybody is safe, nothing else really matters. Life is good.
Had me worried (again) when I saw the news on Yukon last week. So much so, I contacted a mutual friend to inquire about the safety of the O’Hara clan. I was very happy to hear everyone was on vacation but knew you had other family in the area… Glad everyone is safe. Take care Rob.
