Essentially this week I lost the weight I put on last week during Thanksgiving week. A year ago I would have called losing four pounds a major victory; these days it’s pretty disappointing, actually. The more disappointing news is that although I am halfway through my two month diet plan, I am not halfway to my already aggressive overall weightloss goal. This means one of two things; either I’ll have to be even more aggressive (not a good idea at this point; I’m already pushing my limits), or forget about the goal and be happy with any weight loss achieved.
I knew losing weight during the winter Holiday months would be a challenge, which is why I decided to attack it head on. So far I’ve had two big obstacles I’ve yet to overcome. One is “social eating” and the other is not walking because it’s cold. I tried the treadmill over the weekend and I hated it; still, it beats either of the alternatives (not walking, or walking in the cold).
My overall plan works really well during the week — I eat Egg Beaters for breakfast, with some sort of frozen diet entree for either lunch or dinner, sometimes both. I walk at least once a day, sometimes twice. Unfortunately the plan falls apart on the weekends, where without scheduled times to eat or exercise, I fall into my old habits of eating while I’m bored and sitting on the computer all day instead of moving. Also, during the week I walk either during work, or after the kids have gone to bed. On the weekend it’s not as easy to get that free time.
Time to kick it in gear and see what I can do this week. It ain’t over yet.
Hey Rob,
I’m right there with ya. I’m doing more or less the same diet, approx 1500cals a day with a little more exercise. However, I’m using the Hacker’s Diet. You may already be familiar with this.
Getting this done over the Holidays is hard. But know that there are folks out here starvin’ with ya.
If your up for a little competition, let me know. Having someone to answer to helps.
Cheers!
