Destination Alaska: Day 10

Mason and I began the day with a 2 1/2 hour tour called Behind the Fun. During the tour, Mason and I saw everything from the laundry rooms two floors below the water line to the captains bridge, where.we got to see all the controls. I will write more about the tour when I am behind a deal keyboard again. These updates via phone are getting old.

At lunch today they had a chocolate fondue fountain so after eating chicken Parmesan and Chinese food we had cheesecake, bananas, and donuts dipped in melted chocolate. At times I wonder if this place is intentionally trying to fatten us up.

After an afternoon nap — the rocking and vibration of the ship is very conducive to napping — we went to Morgan’s talent show. Only two kids did anything: one kid did Karate, and the. Morgan and some other girl sang a song. After that, all the kids got up and did the cha-cha slide.

We docked last night in Victoria, British Columbia last night. We took an excursion to visit a castle. The castle turned out to be an old house. A big old house, but still a house. Very decadent. Even while standing in another country, our thoughts were of returning home.

I started pecking away at this entry last night while still on the ship. At this very moment we are in the car, a few minutes outside of Spokane, Washington. I’ll write more tonight from the hotel and get caught up on everything.
