Last week I ate a piece of cake at Jessica’s birthday party, a piece of cake for Susan’s birthday, and a piece of cake for Morgan’s birthday. The end result? I put on a pound.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this experience so far it’s to not quit. It’s easy to have a crappy breakfast and then throw up your hands and say, “OH WELL THE DAY IS SHOT I GUESS I’LL EAT BAD ALL DAY.” In reality you’re just making things worse! It’s okay to slide here or there, but the sooner you get back with the program the less damage you’ll have to deal with later on.
I’ve also noticed that simply walking the old one mile lap isn’t producing the same results it did when I started. I’ve increased my mile lap to 1.8 miles. Now it’s time to pick up the speed. Last night Stephen dropped by and we did the 1.8 miles in 39 minutes which, if we timed it correctly, would be a new record for me.
