Oh, the horror!

While out walking the other night I noticed all of a sudden that I was in the middle of a horror movie. The moon was full and partially blocked by clouds. I can’t remember if I starting walking later than usual, but the ground was covered with fog and the leaves were rustling in the breeze. The only thing missing was the howl of a wolf off in the distance or gravestones peeking out above the fog. Fortunately I was able to walk around the neighborhood without confronting any zombies or vampires.

For the past two nights, instead of listening to music while walking I’ve been listening to comedy albums. I’m sure the neighbors must think I’m crazy. All they see is this overweight old guy, walking around the neighborhood late at night and laughing outloud. I guess it kind of fits with the whole horror movie motif.

Speaking of horror movies, I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose this past weekend. Is it me or as you get older do movies scare you more? Every time something jumped out or made a loud noise it completely shocked me (even when I knew it was coming). No matter how old I get, if I watch a scary movie late at night I get freaked out. I remember one time I watched a television special about Bigfoot late one night. After the show was over I got up to go to the bathroom … and heard a noise. Then I honestly went down the hall to see if there was a sasquatch in the back bedroom. So stupid.
