Last Sunday, Dad came over and joined us for the 2012 Super Bowl. We were all rooting for the Chicago Bears, but since they weren’t playing, none of us cared who won or lost. Instead we just ate a lot and had a good time visiting.
We started off with these ribeyes, which Susan cooked out on the grill for us.
Good thing Dad and I both like “rare,” as getting these done in the middle would have taken a while! That’s not all we had though!
The taquitos, boneless wings, and Rotel cheese dip were pretty good too! And, for dessert …
… Susan and the kids made Cake Pops with the kit I got for Christmas! Starbucks sells them for $1.50 each. We made this batch of 18 for $3 — $2 of that being the chocolate chips that became the icing.
Uh oh! Looks like Wampa Rug has his eye on some Cake Pops!
No Super Bowl party is complete without a stocked fridge, and ours was no exception. Upstairs we had Diet A&W Root Beer, died Orange Crush, and Diet 7-Up for the kids, along with Bud Light, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and bottled water for the adults.
Mason, once again, showed up in his Sunday best.
Ah, that’s my Ninja. Here’s what the next three hours looked like to me:
Good times, good food, good family, and a so/so game with so/so commercials. What more could a guy ask for?
You got ripped off. 4 of those “ribeyes” are hamburgers!
Man, look at all that tasty goodness. I wasn’t hungry until I read this post. Thanks Rob. Now to go cook a steak at 8:38 am. Meat, it’s what’s for breakfast :)
