Cold Stone Crazy, Yo

Even though Susan and I work at the same place in the same building, our schedules vary enough that we drive to work separately. Mason and Morgan typically ride to and from daycare with Mommy, but for some reason I decided to beat Susan to the punch Wednesday and pick Mason up. On the way home I spotted the relatively new ice cream shop, Cold Stone Creamery, so Mason and I decided to check it out.

For those who haven’t been to one of these new specialty ice cream shops (Marble Slab is another), here’s the idea: really good ice cream, lots of ingredient options … and expect to pay approximately $5 per person. It’s a little expensive and the portions seem small at first, but it’s worth trying at least once.

There are three bowl sizes with cute names — “Like It”, “Love It”, and “Gotta Have It”, formerly known as small ($3.39), medium ($3.89) and large ($4.39). You can either choose a premade recipe or make your own. Mason ordered the “Candyland” which was vanilla ice cream with M&M’s, Snickers, and Kit Kat’s smashed up in it. Each candy bar is taken right off the shelf and mashed up by hand in your ice cream as you watch them prepare your dish. I ordered the Mister Mocha Mojo or something like that — chocolate, butterscotch, and a bunch of other crap. Mason got a small, I got a medium, total was $9.

In other news, the diet’s going terrible. :)
