I got behind on my writing due to a super busy weekend. What did I do this weekend? I’m so glad you asked!
01. Had another successful Nasty Pirates night. Jeff, Scott and Josh all made it over. Susan made us two different kinds of rum punch. After drinking all that, we watched random YouTube videos, followed by Jackass 3.5. After Scott left, Jeff, Josh and I watched Ninja 3: The Domination (a favorite of mine) followed by bits and pieces of Breakin’. I got requests for a bad horror movie next month so I’ll have to drag the waters and see what comes up.
02. Saturday just after lunch, we had Morgan’s 6th birthday party at the park. For the party we rented the Tumblebus, an old school bus that’s been converted into a mobile tumbling center for little kids. Susan and I have split the vote on the Tumblebus (she gave it a thumbs up) and the kids enjoyed it so I guess that’s what matters.
03. Morgan’s party ended at 3pm; by 4pm, we were at my niece Jessica’s birthday party. Although I complained about being worn out, you can’t complain about Swadley’s BBQ.
We had planned to attend the Mustang Bean Supper but everybody was so sunburned and tired that we fell asleep instead.
04. Sunday morning, Dad took Susan (for her birthday) and the rest of us to Ingrid’s Kitchen. The German Brunch Buffet was great, and the desserts were delicious!
05. Sunday afternoon, Susan and Morgan had pedicures while Mason and I finished up Susan’s birthday shopping. Oops.
06. Susan, the kids and I went to Target to exchange some of Morgan’s shorts. This was really uneventful and I shouldn’t have put it on the list. I did get some Starbucks while we were there though, so that was good. Also, we saw a giant corn on the cob, at which point we all yelled, “Get that corn out of my face!”
07. When the day was at its hottest, the four of us met the Martins at one of OKC’s spraygrounds. The kids had a good time while the adults sat around being hot. I’m not saying it was hot, but …
08. As the day was winding down, our family and our extended family met in our neighborhood park to have some watermelon and let the kids play.
We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging …
Is the giant corn on the cob what I can expect from Target once it launches in Canada in 2013 (they bought the Zellers chain, which they’re partially converting to Target stores, the rest being sold to Walmart).
