Sat down at my laptop tonight and got the shock of my life when I touched it. It shocked me so hard the thing locked up. Tried rebooting it and it just locks up. Finally removed all the cards and plugs and everything else and it boots. Plugged my wifi card back in and the machine locks up. Whenever you plug it in the machine now locks up. Unplug it, the machine reboots. I just ran to Staples to buy another card and it does the same thing, so it’s obviously the laptop that has the problem. I already need a new motherboard for it, now I’ll need new slots too. I’m quickly losing faith in my baby.
I’ve spent the past week playing games on my new Gameboy Advance. Its hardware must be similar to the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and Commodore Amiga because all the games remind me of that kind of quality. It’s funny, because the late 80’s/early 90’s was really my favorite era of gaming, so it’s perfect for me. Maybe someday I’ll give it back to Mason. Maybe not too, who knows.
Whole lotta nuthin’ goin’ on this weekend. Started making loose plans to attend DEFCON this summer in Las Vegas. It would be nice for work to pay for the trip, but that’s doubtful. We’ll see. I finally finished reading Kevin Mitnick’s The Art of Deception. Good reading. Next up is The Google Story. I moved an old bookcase from out in the garage to next to our bed, which is making me read more often when I lie down at night.
