Snow Tubing in 2011!

Greetings from the future! Wait, if you’re here I guess that makes it the present. Sorry, I’ve been watching an awful lot of Lost lately, and I’m up to Season 5. The island time travels? What the deuce?!

After partying ourselves out last night watching a semi-living Dick Clark and a bunch of “award-winning recording artists” we had never heard of, we decided to kick 2011 off by taking the kids downtown and doing some snow tubing. We haven’t had snow here all year, but that didn’t stop us!

Each year, Chesapeake turns the Oklahoma City’s Bricktown Ballpark (home of the Redhawks) into a giant snow tubing party. $10 gets you all you can slide for 2 hours, and each two-hour session is limited to 100 people, so you’re guaranteed to get some slide time in.

I said it didn’t snow, but I didn’t say it wasn’t cold. It was in the 20s today, and we were dressed for it.

In case you don’t understand the concept of snow tubing, a LEGO display was there to explain it to you.

Mason, Mommy, and Morgan, ready to slide!

The Tamron zoom lens pays off one again.

The girls found the hot chocolate booth fairly quickly.

One last slide before we called it a day. From there it was off to Sonic for more hot chocolate and some tasty treats! Welcome, 2011!
