Susan wanted to go camping over Memorial Day weekend, but I didn’t want to spend the evening around a million other people, so a compromise was made; we’d go camping down on Susan’s mom’s property, down in Alex, Oklahoma.
Being around other people turned out not to be a problem.
Well, that’s not exactly true. There were a few locals hanging around …
Our camping adventure was pretty laid back. In fact, the only real stress was our race to get the camper set up before the sun went down.
We made it, with just a few minutes to spare.
Once we had our camper set up and Susan’s sister had her tent set up, Susan’s mom brought down her portable fire pit, which we used to start a fire and cook hot dogs on. Ah, there’s nothing like roughing it.
And, this is nothing like roughing it.
The night was calm and quiet, except for the occasional “moo” from a nearby cow. The next morning, after having some scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and Honey Buns, we packed the camper back down and hauled it back home.
Success!
Camping at its best! Good pics, good fun, and good memories.
thank you for the photos. Looks like you all had fun

Good morning Morgan;
you and I will be having a birthday this month
. How about that
Was there any marshmallow? That’s a must whenever there’s a fire pit… :P
…and marshmallows were had by all!
When are coming back down? I am starting your own campsite and it has electricity. It’s up by the pond and the horses are back home for the kids to pet.
looking forward to more ghost stories and listening to the coyotes howlin’
