Atari 2600 Cake

In case you didn’t see this on Facebook over the weekend …

This past Saturday the fam and I drove to Dallas to attend a friend’s wedding. My friend Darren is a big — no, huge — video game collector. His collection blows mins away, not only in volume, but in value.

Here is a picture I took of Darren’s groom’s cake.

I watch a lot of those cake shows so I know they can do stuff like this, but, wow. It was even more impressive to see in person, and I wish I had brought a better camera with me. Each cart had little labels on them, and the whole thing was edible. One detail a lot of non-nerds might not notice is that the white cartridge in the front is Donkey Kong — which, in fact, is a white cartridge in real life, too. Someone obviously put a lot of work and detail into that cake. Truly awesome.

  1. It’s an original sunnyvale heavy sixer as well..
Attention to detail is excellent. I wonder if there was a label on the bottom of it..
