Dad’s 62, How Do You Do?

That subject means nothing. It just rhymed.

This weekend, Dad turned 62. Earlier in the week we invited everybody over Sunday for some grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. Unfortunately our grill has been kind of flaky ever since last year when a bunch of birds moved into it and filled it full of straw, eggs and bird poop. Now it has stopped working altogether, so Saturday evening we ran up to Lowe’s and bought a brand new grill. Only in my world do I get a $300 grill in honor of somebody else’s birthday.

With the new grill in place and a tank full of propane we fired it up. Everybody liked the burgers, so I’d say the new grill was a success! Dad said he would rather have cookies instead of cake this year, so Susan picked up one of those giant cookies along with some smaller sugar and peanut butter cookies (dad’s favorite).

Tonight for dinner, I went outside and grilled chicken. I have a feeling we’re going to be grilling a lot this summer.
