My New York City trip (tired of hearing about it yet?) spanned 9 days. I drove to Chicago, hung out there for a day, took a train from Chicago to New York City, worked there for a full week, took a train back from New York City to Chicago, hung out there for another day, and then drove back to Oklahoma. Nine days.
Upon returning, I only got to spend six hours with Susan (10pm – 4am) before she left for the airport, heading to a security conference in Florida. I went from nine days away from home to playing daddy day care for a week. The kids and I actually had a good week together, and I found a new way to keep Mason happy.
(No, not really …)
What the kids didn’t know last week was that Susan had a surprise in store for them. On Friday, Susan flew back to OKC, picked up her mom and the kids, and flew back to Florida to spend the weekend at Disneyworld. They’re there now. I’m at home with the cat. By the way, I had a late dinner last night and bought Don Piano an extra piece of fish from Long John Silvers, which he won’t eat. I’m not sure if that says more about the cat, or Long John Silvers.

So technically it’s Easter, although really for me it isn’t. Susan and the kids colored and hid eggs last weekend while I was out of town, and this weekend they’re doing Easter stuff at Disneyworld, so there’s not much to do around here. I have such a terrible short term memory that I did joke about hiding eggs Saturday night and then looking for them Sunday morning. :)
While everybody else is having fun at Disneyworld, I am at home, sick. I have a sinus problem that has been putting pressure on my ear for about four days now. Tylenol is helping, but just when my ear stopped hurting I’ve started wheezing and coughing. I took some Tylenol yesterday afternoon which turned out to be Tylenol PM. Nothing like a six-hour nap in the middle of the day. I had planned on driving down to Dallas to visit a friend of mine today but I feel so crappy that I think I’m going to postpone the visit and just go back to bed.
Mason has learned how to send text messages and pictures to me from Mommy’s iPhone, so I’ve been getting regular updates from him. Last night, Mason and Morgan were told they would be having dinner with Disney Princesses. Here was their reaction.
Apparently during the dinner, Snow White told Mason that he “reminded her of Grumpy,” which he did not like. Susan eventually gave her phone to Mason and told him to “be the photographer,” an assignment he apparently liked very much.
(Two princesses.)
I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish this weekend while I had the house to myself, but right now I think I’m going to take some more Tylenol and go back to bed …
Happy Easter to y ou. Susan.Mason, Morgan and please to Susan’s mother.
She is a very nice lady.I had a great visit with you.

I heard somewhere that folks with alzheimers get to hide their own eggs…

What a nice easter story, Mason and Morgan have awsome parents!
Missed you at Easter Dinner! Can I bring you enough ham for a ham sandwich later? And yell if you get low on Tylenol PM! Love you. Mom
It’s a good thing you were home sick. If I’d found out that you were 90 mins away from me at Disneyworld and didn’t let me know you were in town I’d have to fly down there, kick your butt, and hold all your arcade games hostage. :)
