November 1st marks the beginning of NaNoWriMo — NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November by writing a little bit (1,666 words) each day.
To officially participate you must sign up at www.nanowrimo.org. Once you establish an account, you can upload your daily writings and the site will track your progress throughout the month.
I am getting a late start this year. I spent some time last night trying to come up with an idea. I am already working on a couple of novels at the moment, but I plan on using NaNoWriMo to spark a new one. I am thinking about sticking the Word document out in a public folder on my website where it can be downloaded by anyone at any time. That should keep the project moving forward.
Both Susan and I participated last year. I did not finish my novel, but Susan eventually did.
…and it’s ON again this year. Only this year, the goal is to get one of us published, so it can’t be crap. Write away, dear author!
I want to write an autobiography, but I don’t have an ending yet! It’s a work in progress. :-)
