Opened the mailbox today and found issue #13 of Video Game Trader Magazine waiting there for me. VGT is now running my new column, Token Appreciation, which compares arcade games to their home console conversions. This month’s Token Appreciation covers the Atari 2600 version of Space Invaders. My goal of each article is not to simply compare the two games, but to also give history and background surrounding the games and the companies who released them.

I believe most (if not all) of the issues are online and available for free viewing in PDF format. If you have any other questions about the magazine, the publishers have their own message area over at the super awesome J2Games Forum. Each issue of VGT also includes a video game price guide, so if you’ve been wanting to find out what your old games are worth before selling them on eBay (or, you know, giving them to me …), this is a good way to do it.
