I have a confession to make.
Last week Susan, the kids and I hopped in my truck, drove to Galveston, Texas, and boarded the Carnival cruise ship Ecstasy for Cozumel, Mexico. I didn’t announce our cruise in advance as a direct result of this story in which a guy who announced via Twitter he was going out of town returned home to find his house had been robbed.
Between Susan and myself we ended up with around 350 pictures, although about 70 of those were unrecognizable blurry blobs taken by Morgan, which I ended up deleting.
Although I haven’t added captions yet, you can click here to see the pictures. Tomorrow I’ll add captions to all of them and post a more detailed summary of the cruise.
I believe that I have been on that boat before. The arcade looks familiar except when I was on it half of the games were broken. They had a multicade with Street fighter games on it but with only two buttons. That was a head scratcher.
One of my office mates went on a cruise from Galveston. He just returned on the cruise on the 15th – I guess his family cleared out just when you boarded the boat. One of the destinations of his cruise was Cozumel but it was canceled just before the cruise started because of concerns over the swine flu. So consider yourself lucky that they lifted the ban.
Did your cruise stop at any other locations? My office mate stopped at the Caymen islands and Jamaica.
He may not have been in the same boat as you, I’ll ask him about the name of his boat.
Update: Here’s what my friend John said:
“We were on the Carnival Conquest. We didn’t get to go to Cozumel because of H1N1.”
So, not the same boat after all.
