Video Game Trader Magazine

Just a quick note to announce that as of Issue #13 I’ll be joining the staff of Video Game Trader Magazine. One cool thing about VGT Magazine is that you can buy the magazine either in print format (for the same price as any other print magazine), or as a downloadable PDF for $1.99 (and most of the issues can be viewed online for free).

In my new column I’ll be comparing home ports of video game to their bigger coin-operated versions. I’ve already written a couple of articles and they’ve been a lot of fun to write and I’m looking forward to writing more of them! When the next issue hits stands (my debut issue) I’ll post a reminder then.

  1. That’s great to hear! Still waiting for my first issue of my subscription, will be looking forward to reading some of your articles in future issues.

  2. Welcome aboard!!! We are happy, and privileged, to have you! What should we name the column? I was thinking of “Face Off” but I don’t think it fits right. And we can’t use “The Many Faces of…” Ideas?? How about a contest!!! Exclusive to readers of this blog only. Whomever comes up with the winning name (that is the name that Rob and I pick) will win a free 1 year subscription! Maybe we can try and get Rob to autographi it!! Deadline for the contest will be May 15th.

  3. Here’s mine:

    BLACK LEVEL CONTRAST

Which refers to the two main adjustments of video monitors: brightness (aka black level) and contrast. Fitting because we’re talking about stuff with monitors and because we’re contrasting (& comparing) the two types of gaming versions. I hope you’ll agree that it’s a pertinent play on words.

  4. Okay, I ‘m gonna throw a few in.

    From Quarters to Couches

There’s No Place Like Home… When the Arcade Is Closed

    Stand Up/Sit Down

    PAUSE?!?!?!?!?
