Last night I finished reading The Princess Diarist, the third (and final) memoir published by Carrie Fisher. That makes the seventh book I’ve finished so far this year. In 2018 I only read six books, so I’ve already surpassed that number. I set a goal for myself this year of reading at least two books a month; so far, I’m on pace.
In the past three months I’ve watched three television show/seasons: NOFX: Backstage Passport (seasons one and two), Russian Doll, and the third season of CHiPs. I was able to get through both the NOFX show and Russian Doll in a single day each, but… man, CHiPs is taking for-ever. Season three had 24 episodes, and each one (without commercials) is 48 minutes long. I put an episode on every night when I lay down for bed; if I fall asleep, I have to watch the rest of that episode the next night, plus (if it’s not too late) another one. I’m trying hard to make it through all six seasons. I love it so much. It’s so 70s!
It looks like in the first quarter of 2019 I’ve watched 25 movies, which is below average for me. That puts me on pace for 100 this year, and the past two years I’ve watched 111 and 127. I’ve been collecting a ton of older movies from the 1930s and 1940s which I love, but almost always put me to sleep if it’s late in the evening. Historically I watch a lot of basketball during the NBA finals (which start this weekend). We’ll see if my average picks up after that.
Starting watching CHiPs again myself from the first season dvd I picked up. Then about 9 episodes in discovered there’s widescreen HD versions of the entire series. Time to start again.
