…does that mean good things do, too?
Picked up my third cabinet in less than a week last night — Commando, by Data East (1985). It’s a dedicated cabinet in great condition with a like new/refurbed monitor. The game looks and plays fantastic; it needs nothing. Years ago when I started collecting arcade games I made a list of “the top 10 games I’d like to own” — Commando is on that list.
In the summer of 1986 I went on a school trip to Washington D.C. for 4 days. On one of the four days we stopped by a local mall for lunch. I remember I had brought five bucks with me. The food court had a small arcade, and while looking for something to eat I got distracted by the glowing machines — specifically, Commando. I ended up blowing my five bucks in the arcade and skipping lunch. Definitely worth it.
I made a few updates to the arcade section of my website yesterday, specifically my Arcade Collection. I added pictures for a few games, Bloxeed, Buster Bros., Super Off Road, added a few news ones (Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede) and moved a few from the “Games I Own” list to the “Gone Games” section. It happens.
