We arrived at the hotel around midnight last night, setting a new record for the longest trip to Chicago. I’ve done the trip in just over 11 hours before, which is pretty good for 800 miles. Yesterday it took us 15 hours. When I made the trip in 11 hours I only stopped once or twice. Yesterday I quit counting stops at around twelve. Just to get an idea, we stopped at four different McDonald’s alone.
We’re staying in a Comform Suite but the suite is not so sweet. It’s decent and clean, but it’s not what I think of when someone says “suite.” There’s a small sitting room in the front with a flat panel television and a fold out couch, a normal sized bathroom, and a slightly larger-than-normal bedroom with a jacuzzi in the corner of the room. It’s not like other suites I’ve stayed in where there was a bit of privacy between the two “areas.” Of course it’s been a while since I stayed in a suite — maybe this is the norm these days.
We just got done having the free breakfast (typical free breakfast — bagels, milk and juice, and generic frosted flakes) and the kids are currently swimming in the hotel’s pool. Granny O is free around lunch time so we’ll hook up with her then.
Hehe…we stayed at the Comfort Suites actually.
I believe the conforM suites are a bit further down the street – in Joliet.
