Tech No More: Mission Statement

Who: Rob “Flack” O’Hara, fan of computers, videogames, and technology.
What: A blog dedicated to computers, videogames and technology.
Where: robohara.com/tech, or simply tech.robohara.com.
When: Updated regularly.
Why: Why not?

Some of you know me as Jack Flack, co-founder of Soulz at Zero, founder of SiTH (Sick in the Head e-zine), member of TBH405 (The Brotherhood of 405), and, if you go back far enough, the OK Krackers. Others of you may know me as the author of Commodork: Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie. Some of you know simply know me as Flack, from forums such as Digital Press, Atari Age, RF Generation, and many others. Some of you know me from my videogame and arcade cabinet collections. Some of you know me as a member of the Cult of the Dead Cow’s Ninja Strike Force. Some of you don’t know me at all. If that is the case, allow me to introduce myself — wait, I think I just did.

The name’s Flack, short for Jack Flack. I’m a senior network engineer in my mid-30s who enjoys videogames, computers (especially older ones), and technology in general. I’ve run a successful blog over at robohara.com for several years now, but this year I’ve decided to split my gaming and technology-related posts out of my regular blog and put them here instead. That way, grandma doesn’t have to read about tech updates, and the rest of you won’t be put to sleep by pictures of my family. While most people fall into one demographic or the other, I suspect a few of you might end up reading both blogs. That’s okay, too! Occasionally I can see posts that may end up on both sites, but for the most part, I suspect the content will diverge and remain separate.

If you’re in to retrogaming, retrocomputing, and technology in general, congratulations. I think we’ll get along just fine. Expect to see lots of gaming and technology posts and reviews here.

EDIT: Posts begin on 1/1/2008.
