I found “WP-SpamFree” and based on rave I installed that. Unfortunately SpamFree worked so well that no one, including me, could leave comments. I just kept getting a warning that I was posting from a known spamming IP range … which was odd because I was trying it from the server itself. After a bit of Googling I fount other people with the same problem and no known solution, so I dropped that, got a Googple API Key, and went to Akismet.

I’m a little nervous at the moment as it flagged Smack’s comment as spam and I had to pull it out of the spam pile.

Is it not doing enough spamcatching for you or something?
