I only caught five minutes of the show, because that was all I could stomach.

While things are understandably difficult, Kate is horrid to her husband. While I think affairs are a pretty piss poor thing to do, all I could think was…”can you really blame him?”

I’ve had my hands full dealing with my nephews on occasion. I can’t imagine doing it 24/7 with 8 kids. It’s hard to imagine any family staying together with all that.

So should they be called the Octocouple? Octofamily?

I think they bring out the lowest of the low in people. We make idols out of people who are just plain nasty (Simon Cowell) or stupid (Ozzy Osbourne and his whole family!) and we teach our kids that hurting other people’s feelings is good entertainment. The shows are cheap to make and everybody wants to be on one (that 15 minutes of fame, no matter what the cost). I would say they’re unimaginative, but the writers get very creative in how to degrade people. So no, I’ve never watched Jon and Kate, don’t plan on it, and just feel sorry that they were willing to give up so much for money. Wonder if they would go back to “normal” if they could? Basic thought of my rant: I agree; who cares. (sorry for the length; reality shows is one of my biggest pet peeves.)

My brother seemed surprised the last time I saw him that I hadn’t heard that there marriage was in trouble. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time a relationship ended during a reality program…remember the Loud family? I don’t really watch this show myself but I imagine my brother will keep me up to date on future events concerning it…
